Sam Slutsky When he was seven, the family moved to Mile End, Montreal's Jewish ghetto that was teeming with European refugees, a life rich in intellect and culture. While he was studying philosophy at Concordia University he met Lee Shiu Pak who was teaching Tai Chi.
Sam became his student and soon his assistant, soaking up Master Lee's wisdome concerning movement and also Chinese medicine for 12 years until his death in 1982.
Sam continued to teach at a studio on St. Laurent Boulevard, where to this day he explores the form, the sword form, the stick form, and pushing hands - the boxing - with his students. It is the embodiment of a philosophy of movement thousands of years in development.
